Alandstraße auf dem Deich 1968

Der Alanddeich vor der Ortslage Schnackenburg wurde auf einer Länge von etwa 200 Metern als Straßenkörper für die in Schnackenburg endende Bundesstraße 493 genutzt. Die in diesem Abschnitt vorhandene Krümmung des Deiches sowie die Führung der Fahrbahn auf der Deichkrone wirkten sich negativ auf die Verkehrssicherheit aus. Aus diesem Grund wurde im Jahr 1980 eine Verlegung der B 493 von der Deichkrone hinunter zum binnenseitigen Deichfuß erforderlich.

Im Rahmen dieser Straßenbaumaßnahme konnte in Abstimmung mit der Straßenbauverwaltung auf einer Strecke von 300 Metern gleichzeitig eine Verlegung der Deichlinie sowie eine planmäßige Erhöhung und Verstärkung des Alanddeiches vorgenommen werden. Die Baukosten beliefen sich auf rund 750.000 DM, wobei der Straßenbaulastträger die Hälfte der Kosten übernahm.

In dem Haus ganz links im Bild in der Alandstraße 38 befand sich früher der Friseursalon von Adolf Guhl.

The Aland dike in front of the town of Schnackenburg was used as a road for the federal highway 493, which ends in Schnackenburg, over a length of around 200 meters. The curvature of the dike in this section and the routing of the road on the top of the dike had a negative impact on traffic safety. For this reason, in 1980 it was necessary to relocate the B 493 from the top of the dike down to the inland foot of the dike.

As part of this road construction measure, in coordination with the road construction administration, the dike line was relocated over a stretch of 300 meters and the Aland dike was raised and strengthened as planned. The construction costs amounted to around 750,000 DM, with the road construction agency covering half of the costs.

Adolf Guhl's hairdressing salon used to be located in the house on the far left in the picture at Alandstrasse 38.
