Clear Creek Pump House um 1900
The Santa Fe Railroad built a pump house in the Clear Creek Reservoir, about two miles upstream from the current McHood Park, in 1898. The pump house delivered water to the railroad in Winslow, about five miles away, for the mighty steam engines. The pump house was in operation till the 1960's. Now only a few concrete walls and bits of pipe are all that's left of this once crucial piece of the railroad.
