In dem Gebäude vorne rechts befand sich bis 1983 über 200 Jahre lang das traditionsreiche Handelshaus Dornblüth. Dazu schrieb die Elbe-Jetzel-Zeitung 1983: "Im Mai dieses Jahres feierte das Handelshaus A. W. Dornblüth in Schnackenburg seinen 200. Geburtstag. Mit Ende dieses Jahres endet auch die Tradition dieser Firma. [...] Noch stehen die Raritäten des Geschäftes von der 200. Geburtstagsfeier in den Schaufenstern. Die alten Geschäftsunterlagen von 1779, das Schuldbuch von 1808. Für heutige Verhältnisse sagenhaft niedrige Preise sind im Einkaufsbuch von 1853 verzeichnet. Mit der Aufgabe des Geschäftes Dornblüth geht nicht nur eine alte Tradition im Städtchen an der Elbe zu Ende, sondern auch ein Stück Stadtgeschehen. Mit Wehmut wird [...] mancher Einwohner an vergangene Zeiten denken, als einstmals Schiffe des Handelshauses Dornblüth die Elbe befuhren, um Korn aus dem geräumigen Speicher am Aland nach Hamburg zu bringen und um Kunstdünger und Kohlen heranzuholen." 

Hervorgegangen ist das Handelshaus Dornblüth aus der Fischerschen Handlung. Hier trat Christian Ludwig Dornblüth, aus Tangermünde kommend, 1778 als Kaufmann in den Dienst von Johann Dietrich Fischer. Nur drei Jahre konnte er ihm dienen, dann verstarb Fischer. Kaufmann Dornblüth übernahm die Betreuung des Geschäftes und heiratete die junge Witwe. Damit wurde der Grundstein für die über 200-jährige Geschichte des Handelshaus Dornblüth gelegt. In dem Handelshaus gab es so gut wie alles, u.a. auch Stoffe, Kurzwaren und Kleider.

For over 200 years - until 1983 - the building at the front right housed the long-established trading firm Dornblüth. In 1983, the "Elbe-Jetzel-Zeitung" wrote: "In May of this year, the trading firm A. W. Dornblüth in Schnackenburg celebrated its 200th anniversary. With the end of this year, the company's tradition also comes to a close. [...] Items from the 200th-anniversary exhibition - such as old business records from 1779 and a ledger of debts from 1808 - can still be seen in the shop windows. The purchasing log from 1853 lists prices that are incredibly low by today's standards. The closure of the Dornblüth business marks the end not only of a long-standing tradition in this small town on the Elbe but also of a chapter in local history. Many residents will look back with nostalgia on times past, when ships belonging to the Dornblüth firm once plied the Elbe, transporting grain from the spacious warehouse by the Aland River to Hamburg and bringing back artificial fertilizer and coal."

The Dornblüth trading firm originated from the business established by the Fischer family. It was here that Christian Ludwig Dornblüth, originally from Tangermünde, entered the service of Johann Dietrich Fischer as a merchant in 1778. He served Fischer for only three years before the latter passed away. Merchant Dornblüth took over the management of the business and married the young widow. This laid the foundation for the Dornblüth trading firm's history, which spanned more than two centuries. The trading house stocked practically everything, including fabrics, haberdashery, and clothing.
