Gedicht über Schnackenburg:

"Das kleinste Städtchen ist unser im Land,
Wir lieben es alle, es ist uns bekannt.

Im Winkel liegt es, am großen Strom,
Klein ist das Kirchlein, kein großer Dom.

Klein-Hamburg wird es mit Recht genannt,
Blau ist der Strom, gelb ist der Sand.

Grün sind die Weiden, der Himmel ist weit.
So trennt und verbindet der Strom mit der Zeit.

Von Böhmen bis Hamburg die Schiffe ziehn,
Ein Schiffer ist ruh´los, die Tage fliehn.

Viel Glück ist im Städtchen, manch´ stilles Leid,
Fern liegen die Städte, die wirre Zeit.

Mit Sorgen und Arbeit der Sommer verrauscht,
Hart ist unser Brot und hart unsere Faust.

Am Wasser wohnt ein freies Geschlecht,
Uralt wie der Strom ist auch unser Recht.

Den Frieden der Burg, den werden wir wahren,
So einst - so jetzt - so in kommenden Jahren.

Poem about Schnackenburg:

"The smallest town in the country is ours,
We all love it, we know it.

It lies in the corner, on the big river,
The little church is small, not a big cathedral.

It is rightly called Little Hamburg,
The river is blue, the sand is yellow.

The pastures are green, the sky is wide.
This is how the stream separates and connects over time.

From Bohemia to Hamburg the ships move,
A boatman is restless, the days fly by.

There is a lot of happiness in the town, some quiet suffering,
The cities are far away, the confusing times.

The summer is consumed with worries and work,
Our bread is hard and our fist is hard.

A free family lives by the water,
Our rights are as old as the stream.

We will keep the peace of the castle,
So once - so now - so in coming years.
