Standing on a Corner um 1930

we have had over 125 years of standing on the corner in Winslow AZ. The Dagg Mercantile building was built in 1890. William H, Dagg ran a thriving business there for over 30 years, it closed during the depression in the 1930s. Winslow drug Walgreens later went into its place. At some point Fred Robinson ran the drug store After it closed the Catch pin Western Wear store went in. Jan 11 1992 the Catch Pin burned leaving a vacant lot. A group of dedicated people formed the Standing on the Corner Foundation taking advantage of the Eagles song Take it easy came up with concepts and designs for a park, the east wall of the old J.C. Penneys and Rasco building was used as a canvas. Oct 18 2004 the Penneys building burned the east wall was saved and stabilized. Thousands of people come to see the park each year.
