The old Palais 1897

At its ttime, the old Palais served as the residence of the grand ducal family and was later used as a representation and guest house. After the First World War, it served partly as the seat of the state government until its destruction in the night of the fire. In 1951, the remains of the wall were removed and the grounds were landscaped.

From 1975 to 1977, Luisencenter was built on the site of the old Palais. 57 attractive shops offer a wide range of fashion and accessories here, as well as numerous services and gastronomy.
