Ludwigsplatz 1910
In the middle of Darmstadt's pedestrian zone is Ludwigsplatz with the Bismarck Fountain. The fountain (Bismarck monument) was erected in 1906 in honour of Otto von Bismarck, who was made an honorary citizen of the city in 1890. Today, the cone-shaped square assumes a central distribution function to the surrounding streets.
