Obere Schnauzmeierei 1865
We now turn north onto the other roadside: house Bodelschwingh is part of the rambling grounds of the rest and nursing home “Elisabethenheim”.
The previous building at this site had an ambiguous history: in 1865, it opened as a beer inn “Obere Schnauzmeierei”.
In 1895, in order to sport a cultivated bourgeois image, it received a new façade – a neoclassic one, of course.
