Friedensplatz 1871
Originally used as an "equestrian square" for riding courtly horses, many parades took place on the square, which is why it was also called Parade Square. After the Second World War, Friedensplatz, as it was called from 1949, initially served as a car park.
In the course of the construction work for the palace garage (1967/68), the square was broken up into small sections by concreted raised beds, the relocation of the monument to Ludwig IV and the construction of the entrance to the underground garage (formerly with the Eis-Friedel kiosk).
