The Tall One

The former tower of the city fortification also served as a prison tower. In the lower stone part there were several
Prison rooms. In the upper half-timbered storey, a small apartment was set up for one of the two guards who used to do their duty here. In addition to taking care of the prisoners, their official duties included calling out the hours and keeping a general watch over the city. The name of the "Long
the tower received because it was the highest of all towers. Moreover, it had been erected at a high place. Visually, this made it appear even longer.
