House Hammer/Butz um 1900
In this place originally stood two houses, which fell victim to the city fire of 1692. By purchasing an adjacent plot of land, it was possible to erect a much larger building here. The house was rebuilt after it became the property of Christoph Mose Doertenbach, the so-called Silver Mose, head of the Calw Mining Company. During this reconstruction, the front facing the marketplace was rebuilt. This explains the different design of the framework in the direction of Marktstraße and towards the market square.
