House Jourdan 1913

Tobias Weber, innkeeper and barber, immortalized himself as the builder of this house in 1693 in an outstanding place:

On the portal he had the year of construction and his initials TW affixed, as well as two symbols of his profession, a barber's bowl and a razor. By the way, the portal is made of stones from the destroyed castle in Hirsau. Weber used the house as an inn. The hostel "Zum Rappen" existed here for about 100 years. At the end of the 18th century, a dyeing factory was established in the building. Since 1875 it housed a butcher's shop.
