House Kuhstraße 35
Hidden within the closed block development, this skewed half-timbered building was only revealed during the urban redevelopment of 1960–1990, when Orsaystraße and Wambrechiesstraße were constructed. The creation of these new streets brought to light what had long been concealed.
Like Heilig-Geist-Straße and Rabenstraße, Orsaystraße and Wambrechiesstraße are among the “young” streets of the redevelopment, providing modern access to the old town.
What makes this timber-framed house unusual is its half-timbering: the wooden beams are arranged irregularly at right angles across three bays, a feature unique in Kempen’s historic centre.
Although the entrance is now on Orsaystraße, the property remains officially part of Kuhstraße 35 for postal purposes.
