Ulm Gate
Come on, we need to hurry, or we won't make it through the gate in time! Later, we might get locked in!
Today, we've been on our feet at the market all day. Now, I'm craving a hearty meal back home in the warm parlour. A good beer to go with it, that would be just perfect.
Yes, Biberach is an expensive place. At noon, we could still talk our way out, but now the toll money is due.
But we've done good business. Cabbages, turnips, a two-pound cheese from our cow, a dozen eggs, and about ten pounds of butter, all sold. Well then, let's make our way back to our village. The gate will close soon.
It's not called Spital Gate anymore. That's what I remember from the old days. The king demands it be called Ulm Gate, after the direction it leads to.
Listen, the evening bell is ringing! It chimes high up in the bell tower. The lads and lasses just managed to slip inside the gate before the curfew rings. They're coming back from herding.
Stop talking so much now, dear. Let's get going; we need to leave the town. Otherwise, we won't make it home before nightfall.
